From Gladiators to God - Finding Life that lasts
If you don’t remember Gladiators - where were you in the 90’s?! Come and join us on Thursday 17th March as we speak to Warren ‘Ace’ Furman. Alongside stories of what it was like to be on the most popular gameshow on TV, being engaged to Jordan, acquiring Russell Crowe’s gladiator suit, or shocking Phillip Schofield live on This Morning - we’ll be hearing how his experiences led him to faith, how he coped with the suicide of his father, and where ultimately he found life that lasts…
Rugby and Boerewors!
Join us to watch the Six Nations on a VERY BIG screen…and eat Boerewors! The Men’s ministry team at Grace Church are hosting an afternoon of Rugby and sausages!? Whoever you’re supporting, join us and you can make your own Boerewors - or eat some pre-prepared. Feel free to bring some of your favourite beers to share. Home-brew welcome!

From 10am, walk round our Christmas Journey meet the characters from the first Christmas.
Then at 10:30am we’ll have an interactive Family Carols Service in the school hall. Come in costume and be ready to sing along!

What are the lies that anxiety tell us and where can we find peace in these difficult times? Come along and hear what she has to say, and ask any questions you might have.
Is it OK not to be OK? What's the Christian response to mental health
Special youth evening, hosted by Cheam Baptist church called ‘Is it okay not to be okay?’
The premise of the evening is to open up conversation on mental health and Christianity. We will begin with a short talk from David Cornish (at Hope Church, Elder & Youth leader). Then there will be a small panel of Christian professionals from CBC, who work in the area of mental health (counsellor, occupational therapist and GP) – and our young people will be able to anonymously submit questions.
An evening with Foodbank pioneer - Chris Mould
The Trussell Trust has had a profound impact on the UK through its work establishing and running foodbanks. The first of these was a local initiative in a church in Salisbury, there Chris Mould, a highly experienced manager in the public sector, was a member. Chris went on to became Chief Executive of Trussell Trust, leading it through its most explosive period of growth to make it one of the most impactful social initiatives in recent British history, and a powerful instrument for good amongst the most needy members of society. Chris has kindly agreed to share his story with a group of local churches and answer our questions on Zoom from 8pm on Thursday 4th February.

Come along to the Grace Church Christmas Bedtime Story for a bedtime reading, fun with your friends and plenty of silly dancing. Lizzie Laferton will read her children’s book There’s a Lion in My Nativity! - a funny story about a school Christmas play that features a few surprises along the way, each of them pointing to an important truth about who Jesus is and why he came.
