Introducing 2 Samuel

Starting at the end of April, at the 10am Service we will be launching into a new series in the book of 2 Samuel.

On a purely historical level, 1 Samuel charts the establishment of the Kingdom with the rise and fall of King Saul and the Rise of David, and then 2 Samuel takes us through the reign of King David and his subsequent fall. We see the big political beasts squaring off against each other - but much more that, and in the midst of that, we’ll see our Sovereign God faithfully working our his plans and purposes - He’s the true hero of 2 Samuel.

And, even more that - we’ll see the King we need, as the events that unfold point us to the Lord Jesus - the ultimate King, who is not capricious, flawed and self-serving - but who came to serve and lay down his life for his people. Studying 2 Samuel will help us see King Jesus more clearly.
